Photo: Alaska Coast Eroding Fast

The sea is eating away at Alaska's northern coast with alarming speed (above, erosion in progress in summer 2009), a new video of time-lapse photographs shows.

The collapse may be caused in part by declining sea ice in the summer and increasing sea temperatures in the Arctic, experts said in September 2009.
