Photo: Chicken Bone Spurs Debate Over Americas' First Visitors



Seafaring Polynesians and their chickens did not beat Columbus to the New World as previously thought, according to a study released in July 2008.

Modern-day Chilean chickens—which some scientists have argued carry Polynesian blood—are merely offshoots of the common chicken (such as this bird, above), found in restaurants and fast-food chains worldwide.
