Photo: Dino-Era Bird Fossil Found; One of Oldest Known



A new species of dinosaur-era bird found in China is one of the oldest known bird fossils, paleontologists report in a new study.

The extremely well-preserved specimen (above) has tail and wing feathers that may have once been the bright reds, blues, and yellows of modern birds.
