Photo: Hurricane Gustav to Become Gulf Coast Monster?

Tropical storm Gustav hovers over Haiti on the morning of August 27, 2008. Gustav is expected to regain hurricane status once it moves out over open water again.

A high-pressure system to the north could deflect the storm, sending it into the central Gulf of Mexico, where vast stretches of warm water could supercharge the Gustav as it heads for the U.S.
