Photo: Mars's Next Explorers: Jumping, Baseball-Size Robots?



An artist's rendering depicts baseball-size robots descending to the surface of Mars and emerging from their landing craft. Scientists say such a swarm of bouncing, spherical bots could hop across the red planet to search for life in caves and other terrain not accessible to conventional rovers.
