Photo: 1st Bear in Germany in 170 Years Makes Timely Escape

Authorities in the German state of Bavaria announced that a brown bear found there should be either captured or shot after the animal killed six sheep and raided a chicken coop. The brown bear was the first bear spotted in Germany in more than 170 years.
