Photo: Jumbo Squid Invading Eastern Pacific



Flotillas of jumbo, or Humboldt, squid are invading entirely new waters along almost the entirety of the eastern Pacific Ocean, scientists warn.

Though the cause of the mass migrations remains puzzling, the researchers say increasing numbers of the voracious predators may upset marine ecosystems and threaten commercial fisheries.
