Photo: 2007 Hurricane Season Ending Raises Forecast Concerns



On August 21, 2007, Hurricane Dean made landfall on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula as a Category 5 storm—one of only two major hurricanes to form in the Atlantic Basin in 2007.

Overall, 14 named storms formed between June 1 and November 30, falling short of preseason predictions for the second year in a row.
