Photo: Bug-Eating Robots Use Flies for Fuel

Slugbot, a robot that hunts common garden slugs, is the first so-called Ecobot developed by the U.K.'s Bristol Robotics Laboratory. Slugbot can't actually digest its prey, but two more recent prototypes can convert biomass—like dead flies and other waste—into electricity through a series of stomachlike fuel cells.
