Photo: Virgin Birth Expected at Christmas -- By Komodo Dragon



A baby Komodo dragon hatches from a self-fertilized egg. Scientists recently found that two female Komodo dragons at two separate zoos had laid fertile eggs despite never having been with a mate. The finding that Komodo dragons are capable of self-fertilization may open the way for more such discoveries in other animals, the researchers say.
