Photo: Chimps Do Get "AIDS," Study Finds



Chimps (such as this ape photographed in an Atlanta studio), may be vulnerable to SIV—the source of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS—after all, a July 2009 study says. The ape virus appears to give rise to an AIDS-like illness in Tanzania and possibly elsewhere and in other species.
