Photo: First Moon "Skylight" Found -- Could House Lunar Base?



A curious dark hole in the moon's Marius Hills region—spotted on May 20, 2008, by Japan's Kaguya probe—could be the entrance to an underground cavern, scientists announced in October 2009.

This first known moon "skylight" could provide access to a cozy underground shelter for future moon dwellers, the scientists say.
