As leads for new drugs on land dry up, medicine hunters are plunging into the oceans in search of the next blockbuster drug.

Nereus Pharmaceuticals is developing a medicine (above, top, compounds under investigation) from a tumor-killing fungus that grows on sea grass (below) in the Bahamas.
