Photo: European Butterflies Threatened by Climate Change



The dusky large blue butterfly is slowly migrating north from Central Europe to the south of Scandinavia as climate change heats up its native habitat.

According to a December 2008 study, climate change could wipe out several species of European butterfly if the insects are not able to migrate to and thrive in northern climes.
