Photo: Corn, Arrowroot Fossils in Peru Change Views on Pre-Inca Culture



Researchers from the University of Maine excavate the ruins of a house at least 3,600 years old in the Peruvian highland town of Waynuna.

Scientists found evidence of corn cultivation at the site, placing the crop in the region about a thousand years earlier than previously believed.
