A scientist with the Pacific Ocean Shelf Tracking project checks the growth a steelhead trout, a member of the salmonid family.

The first ever tracking of the ocean migration of young Pacific salmon and steelheads suggests the main barriers to their survival aren't river dams but lethal obstacles at sea, an October 2008 study says.
