Photo: Mars Scientists Intensify Search for Water

"Blueberries" dot the Martian surface near Victoria Crater in this image taken by the NASA rover Opportunity on August 30, 2006. Measuring up to a fifth of an inch (five millimeter) wide, the spheres are believed to be rich in iron. Scientists speculate they formed in deposits permeated by water.
