Photo: Warming Oceans Contributed to Record Arctic Melt



Satellite data show the decrease in Arctic sea ice cover in September 1979 (top) and September 2007 (bottom). Arctic sea ice levels reached record lows this summer, and warming ocean currents may be largely to blame, scientists say.
