Photo: Nobel Prize in Medicine Awarded for Cracking DNA Puzzle

The Nobel Prize in medicine or physiology for 2009 was awarded to (left to right) Elizabeth Blackburn of the University of California, Carol Greider of Johns Hopkins University, and Jack Szostak of Harvard University (pictured on a projector slide at a Nobel Prize meeting) on September 5, 2009.

The scientists, who will split the prize evenly, discovered an enzyme that helps chromosomes in cells stay eternally young, the Nobel Prize jury says.
