Photo: Giant Shark Mystery Solved: Unexpected Hideout Found



Growing as long as 32 feet (10 meters) the mouthy basking shark is a filter feeder, not a biter.

As of May 2009, the longstanding mystery of where New England basking sharks go in winter appears to have been solved: The sharks take off on epic migrations to deep tropical waters.
