Photo: "Toygers" Breed Conservation Awareness, Animal-Rescue Concerns



Sumatra, a registered "toyger," prowls a backyard deck. The pedigreed house cat displays the orange-tinged fur and unique dark stripes that breeders say are meant to imitate the look of wild tigers.

In the next few years breeders hope to perfect the toyger by producing cats with whiter bellies, more rounded ears, ropey tails, and thicker chins.
