Photo: Vast Buried "Fossil Lake" Reported in Darfur



Women carry water—a scarce, fought-over commodity in Sudan's Darfur region—at a refugee camp in North Darfur state in 2004.

Geologists recently made the controversial claim that they have found an vast underground cache of water in the region, raising hopes for a greener, more peaceful Darfur.
