My Fiance mentioned their crew, Modoc- IHC, was interviewed by a National Geographic team.. I'm curious to see what comes of those interviews and video footage.

The brave men and women who have to leave their families to fight the flames, during the long season are truly selfless and amazing humanbeings.

They definetly dont get enough praise for the work they do!

I am looking at the photo of the "Swamper".  It's truly timeless.  This could be a coal miner in WV in the 1930s.  This could be a WWII soldier.  I'm sure as experts look closely, they can tell the age of the helmet and goggles.  But from the everyday layperson eye, this is a fantastic shot.  I love it.

I am both a photogropher ( hotshots ) and subject (smamper) the best of both worlds. Very cool!

My boyfriend is fighting in Oregon Washington right now and seeing these makes me so proud of him and everyone else out there fighting these fires.  Great pictures taken of Great men and woman.

How incredibly brave those men and women must be to fight fires such as these.   I worry and pray for them.
