Flapping its way out of obscurity, the Kachin woolly bat is among 15 new mammal species discovered in the Greater Mekong region since 1997, according to WWF.

Of this and other recently discovered species in the region, WWF's Stuart Chapman said, "These are not just species that are found under a microscope. ... These are large and important groups of species."
