Gorleben, Germany, November 9, 2008--About 200 anti-nuclear protestors attempt to halt a planned transfer of atomic waste by blocking a section of railway near the northern German town of Gorleben.

This week's was the 11th such transfer of radioactive waste from a French reprocessing plant to Gorleben's controversial interim storage facility.

Protesting nuclear power as unsafe, activists hoped to draw attention to the shipments by disrupting the transport convoy and blocking the storage site entrance.
