Cairo, August 19, 2008--Smoke from a fire in the 19th-century palace that houses Egypt's upper house of parliament blackens the Cairo sky. (Watch video.)

No deaths were attributed to the blaze, which is being blamed on faulty wiring. The fire did, however, severely damage a parliamentary archive and library, according to a security official.
