Nakuru, Kenya, January 26, 2008A young man with an arrow in his head awaits treatment at a clinic. Split along ethnic lines, groups in Kenya have been attacking each other with machetes, clubs, spears, and bows and arrows.

The clashes erupted after President Mwai Kibaki was declared the winner of the December 27 election, which many observers describe as flawed. Opposition candidate Raila Odinga rejected the result, saying the vote had been rigged.

Much of the violence has pitted tribesincluding Odinga's Luo against Kibaki's Kikuyu peopleagainst each other. The clashes have claimed over 850 lives so far, according to the Associated Press.
