Nairobi, Kenya, January 16, 2008—A supporter of Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga jumps victoriously on a burned car after he and fellow supporters set fire to barricades in Nairobi's Kibera slum.

On January 16, Odinga vowed to continue nationwide rallies to protest President Mwai Kibaki's December 27 reelection, sparking the East African country's latest round of violence.

"Nothing will stop us from mounting these rallies," Odinga said in a statement.

Since the disputed election, a wave of violence throughout the country has killed more than 6,000 people and displaced more than 250,000, according to the Reuters news agency.
