A swirl of spring cottonwood trees and other shapes is reflected on the surface of a shiny black Buick in Moah, Utah.

The photograph won the best landscape shot in the National Geographic Society's 2007 Global Photography Contest.

"A mundane scene is made extraordinary by the photographer's willingness to look beyond the expected," said judge Darren Smith, international editions design editor for the National Geographic Society.
