The UN recently rated the Scandinavian country of 4.6 million people second on an annual list of the most desirable places to live.

Norway's GDP per capita is $41,420 (U.S.), according to 2005 figures.

The country fell from its first place status in 2006 after a six-year run, pushed out by Iceland's new life expectancy estimates and GDP, Reuters reported.
