Siwa, Egypt, August 18, 2007—Kamal Al Masry, 50, lies buried neck-deep in the sand during the hottest time of the day in the El Dakrror mountain area, 467 miles (752 kilometers) west of Cairo (See a map of Egypt).

The people of the city of Sîwa believe that the sand has theraputic powers to cure rheumatism, joint pain, and sexual weakness.
