A harpooned bluefin tuna lies in a fishing net during the traditional mattanza, or tuna hunt, in the village of Bonagia on the western coast of Sicily on June 7, 2003.

According to ancient tradition, about a hundred local fishermen drag a huge fishing net through the waters to snare the wild fish as they pass the island during their annual migrations.
