Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 21, 2007—A group of racing camels pass under electricity lines in front of Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building under construction.
The 512-meter (1,680 foot) Burj Dubai on July 21 became the tallest building in the world, surpassing Taipei 101 in Taiwan, Reuters new agency reported.
Taipei 101 at 508 meters (1667 feet) was the tallest in the world after it opened in 2004.
The $1 billion building to be completed by the end of 2008, will have 160 floors, and is part of a $20 billion residential and commercial venture.
The final height is being kept secret until the building is completed.
