A young calf gores a reveler in the bullring at Pamplona, Spain on July 9, 2007.

Injuries can be common among the runners, many of them steeped in alcohol and inexperience, as they try to outrun the half-ton bulls. Two people have been gored and seven injured in 2007 as of July 11.

Since recordkeeping began in 1924, 14 deaths have been attributed to the bull runs. The last fatality was in 1995, when a 22-year-old American was gored to death.
