March 28, 2007—If you like to visit the bars, TV lounges,
or duty-free stores at the airport, you might want to book a seat on
the first commercial plane that lets you take these amenities into
the air with you.
The Airbus A380—a double-decker craft with a wingspan wider than a football field—is the world's largest passenger airliner. It boasts enough space inside for 555 people, and carriers have the option to add modern features such as reclining seats, flat-screen TVs, and someday even gym facilities.
What's more, the new Airbus is being touted as a "greener" travel option, because it could reduce the number of planes in the sky while burning less fuel per passenger.
Take a video tour of this superjumbo jet, and find out why some critics aren't so sure the new plane will really make the skies environmentally friendlier.
