Saroma, Japan

A tornado ripped through the Japanese town of Saroma, in northeastern Hokkaido, on Tuesday, November 7, destroying everything in its path.

The country's Meteorological Agency said the tornado may be the most devastating on record to hit Japan. Nine people were killed and 26 injured near a tunnel construction site after the twister cut a 0.6-mile-long (1-kilometer-long), 330-foot-wide (100-meter-wide) path through Saroma's Wakasa District.
