Main Entrance, National Museum of the American Indian

Sheltered by a roof that recalls a limestone overhang in a Southwest U.S. canyon, the main entrance to the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C., will welcome the museum's first visitors on September 21, 2004.

Located on the National Mall, the new museum is dedicated to the life, languages, literature, history, and arts of native peoples of North, Central, and South America.
