Mkambati River

"Mkambati is a river estuary situated in the Transkei, a rural area to the south of Durban. This is one of the best places to experience the sardine run. This picture was taken from a microlight. The sardine run from the air is an amazing spectacle. The dark lines of sardines are punctuated by holes or 'donuts'gaps in the tightly packed fish where copper sharks are feeding. Mkambati is one of the most beautifully unspoilt estuaries that I have seen."
