November 10, 2009--Tropical storm Ida makes landfall over Dauphin Island, Alabama, as seen by the Earth-orbiting GOES-12 satellite.

Ida, which formed in the Caribbean Sea on November 4, is likely to be the last storm of the unusually quiet 2009 Atlantic hurricane season, which ends November 30, experts suggest.
