A European shipment of freshwater shrimp from the Indian state of Bengal in 2007 contained a surprise: the new reddish-brown species seen here.

Now called "ornamental shrimp" among aquarium enthusiasts, Macrobrachium agwi is of among 61 new species of invertebrates found in the Eastern Himalaya since 1998, an August 2009 WWF report says.
