May 17, 2009--Astronaut Mike Massimino smiles outside the space shuttle Atlantis during the current mission's fourth spacewalk to repair and upgrade the 19-year-old Hubble Space Telescope.

In addition to his work on Hubble's final tune-up, Massimino made history on May 12 by becoming the first human to "tweet" from space. Using the "micro-blogging" site Twitter, the astronaut posted the 139-character message "From orbit: Launch was awesome!! I am feeling great, working hard, & enjoying the magnificent views, the adventure of a lifetime has begun!"
