Near Bangkok, Thailand, May 13, 2008--A crocodile made its debut during the annual May-to-August crocodile-hatching festival at Sriracha Tiger Zoo--adding to the estimated hundred thousand crocs in residence there.

The festival wasn't the only spectacle at the Thai zoo, where tigers sometimes nurse piglets dressed in tiger-print costumes and jump through hoops in a circus show.

Such practices--and alleged involvement in the illegal animal trade--have put Sriracha on the watch lists of groups such as the Animal Welfare Institute.
