Late Adventurer Barbara Rowell's Memoir Takes Flight

Interspersed throughout Rowell's narrative are her own beautiful photographs.

Sadly, this would be the only book Rowell would write. In August 2002 both she and her husband Galen died in a chartered plane crash outside of their hometown of Bishop, California.

Flying South inspires readers to dream big dreams—and make them happen. That's what Barbara did, with no regrets save one. "When I think about flying," she wrote, "my only regret is not learning to do it sooner."
