"February, Knights Pond"

The 96-acre (39-hectare) Knights Pond is unusual in the Ducktrap area—it has remained undeveloped and is almost entirely surrounded by protected lands. So far, the Ducktrap Coalition has managed to permanently conserve 81 percent of the land surrounding the Ducktrap River. Their biggest obstacle to obtaining all of the land is the fact that the Ducktrap watershed abuts quickly growing towns such as Camden and Rockport. More Americans are moving to beautiful, quiet coastal areas, and in the process are threatening the very natural beauty they seek.
