Photo: "Dead Zone" off Oregon Coast Is Growing, Study Says



Taking measurements of the ocean's oxygen levels is helping scientists understand the occurrence of the "dead zone" off the Oregon coast.

This year the oxygen-poor zone, which suffocates marine life, stretches for the first time into Washington State waters.
