Photo: Sunlike Star Vibrations Seen for First Time

Images of the sky show stars of various brightness as seen by France's Convection Rotation and Planetary Transits (CoRoT) space telescope.

New CoRoT data released in October 2008 provided a first look at the surface vibrations of three nearby stars. The work could help astronomers get a better picture of how sunlike stars operate on their insides.
