Photo: Hundreds of Salt Deposits Spotted on Mars



A false-color image taken by the Mars Odyssey Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) shows chloride minerals (blue) in the Terra Sirenum region of Mars.

The find is the first evidence that salty fluids might have once oozed across the red planet, according to a new study.
