Photo: Katrina-Hit Animal Shelters Slowly Rebuilding



The Louisiana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals recently opened a brand-new, three-million-U.S.-dollar facility after Hurricane Katrina destroyed their previous shelter in 2005.

Yet many shelters along the U.S. Gulf Coast are still struggling to rebuild after the storm.
