Photo: Renowned Climber Killed by Fall in Yosemite

Rock climber Todd Skinner used ropes only for safety, not as climbing aids, during the first ever ascent of Ulamertorsuaq, a 3,600-foot (1,100-meter) rock wall near the southern tip of Greenland.

Skinner died Monday, October 23, 2006, while pioneering a new climbing route in California's Yosemite National Park.
