Photo: Europe's 1st Farmers Were Segregated, Expert Immigrants



Prehistoric bones are irradiated with ultraviolet light to destroy superficial DNA traces, perhaps from handling by researchers, which could otherwise compromise test results.

The bones were analyzed during a study, published in September 2009, that concluded that Europe's first farmers came from afar.
